This workshop will concentrate on the PROCESS of developing a watercolor painting beginning with small value sketches in pencil\, the use of ‘grisaille’ to build value contrast\, layering of local color\, and ‘deconstructing’ a painting with the use of thrown water\, splatters\, runs and blooms. \nStudents are asked to look for urban or country architectural research photos with a strong sense of light and shadow. \nThink drama! \nA detailed supplies list will be available.

DESCRIPTION:The Wellesley Society of Artists welcomes visitors to the first exhibit of the year\, The Great Escape\, at the Center for Arts Natick for the month of February. This exhibit features abstract and non representational artwork by over 20 members of the WSA. The gallery at TCAN is open during box office hours: Sunday and Monday: Closed\, Tuesday – Friday: 12:00pm – 4:00pm\, Saturday: 12:00pm – 2:00pm and during ticketed performances.
