DESCRIPTION:WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP\nwith Tim Saternow\nLearn More to Sign Up \nWHEN:\nJanuary 30th to February 1st\, 2026 – 9am to 4pm\nTHREE FULL DAYS\n \nOPEN TO MEMBERS $450 & NON-MEMBERS $525 \nHOSTED BY:\nNew England Watercolor Society\nat The Guild of Boston Artists\n162 Newbury Street\, Boston\, MA 02116 (map)\nguildofbostonartists.org \nWORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: \nSplash Dynamic – Bold Watercolor Painting is a workshop creating strong watercolor paintings using bold value arrangements\, powerful lights and darks\, correct linear perspective\, and attention to effective compositions in urban landscape paintings. This workshop will concentrate on the PROCESS of developing a watercolor painting beginning with small value sketches in pencil\, the use of ‘grisaille’ to build value contrast\, layering of local color\, and ‘deconstructing’ a painting with the use of thrown water\, splatters\, runs and blooms. \nStudents are asked to look for urban or country architectural research photos with a strong sense of light and shadow. \nThink drama! \nA detailed supplies list will be available.
