Nan Rumpf
Wellesley, MA
Painting with a fluid medium fascinates Nan. What kind of visual texture is created when you apply the paint with a spray bottle or a sea sponge? How does watercolor behave on different surfaces? Experimenting gives her something to respond to as she develops her paintings intuitively while juggling shape, color and value. She enjoys painting in both abstract and representational ways. Nan also enjoys teaching and teaches intermediate watercolor at the Danforth Museum School, Ink Brush Painting in Needham, and Experimental Watercolor Techniques in her home studio in Wellesley and on the Cape in Truro.
