From New England’s natural beauty, coupled with encouragement from many inspiring artists, Dottie has developed an appreciation for both plein air and studio painting. Plein air adventures have taken her to Maine, the Hudson River Valley, New Hampshire and Cape Cod. At home, she is inspired by flowers in her garden, fruits of the season, and the simple elements of everyday life. Her paintings communicate her love of color, depicting the natural world as she sees it, in its many arrays of both vivid and subtle colors. Dottie enjoys and is always amazed by the experience of watching a painting unfold.
