Kitt Shaffer

Kitt Shaffer has always explored the intersection of art and science, coming from a family of artists and craftsmen. In high school, she won awards for her portraits and still life paintings and made jewelry. In college, she minored in Fine Arts, pursuing drawing, particularly figure drawing, as well as sculpture. In medical school, she took up pastels, water colors and colored pencil, producing small vibrant landscapes from her many travels. She later she began taking ceramics classes at the Harvard Office for the Arts, and participated in Show and Sale events, as well as a one-person show of her ceramics at the Hilles Gallery. She is currently a member of the Mudstone Studios in Warren, RI, where she makes figurative and functional ceramics. Her most recent works include painted furniture and white line printing as well as landscapes in oil and pastel and figure drawing. Her many shows in New England and Italy, and examples of her work can be seen on her website.
