Masha’s paintings explore the themes of family, heritage and memory. She paints what is most familiar to her- her family, daily life and surrounding landscape. A Russian-American artist, she is influenced by the tradition of Russian Orthodox iconography, which inspires her use of traditional egg tempera and gold leaf.
