Brenda’s favorite subject matter is found in the beauty and serenity of nature. She has a special fondness for ties of nature with the rustic beauty of yesterday, such as bougainvillea climbing over the arch ruins of an old mission. Brenda works to convey what she sees and feels through her paintings, focusing on the rhythm of color as well as the contrast between lights and darks.
Brenda found her love for watercolor many years ago as an illustration major. She enjoy the endless techniques and magical surprises this fluid medium can bring. Recently she started painting with acrylics and discovered the love for watercolor is now shared with this versatile medium. Acrylics can also produce unlimited magical surprises, especially when glazing or painting in abstract form.
Brenda received a BFA from Laguna College of Art and Design, Laguna Beach, CA, and is affiliated with several local art associations.
