Jessica Caruso
Framingham, MA
Jessica has been exploring and playing with her inner artist since first grade at a Waldorf school when she picked up colored pencils and began drawing. She was fascinated by the world of color. In high school she created pen and ink drawings that culminated in a series completed in university during her Junior Year in France. Over the years she continued to devote time to her artistic expression with much focus on flowers in gouache and pen and ink. She also created clothing designs for her classes at the School of Fashion Design in Boston.
In retirement she took several classes in acrylics at Danforth Art, Framingham and New Art Center, Newton in which she focused on color, value, composition, and light. She has also explored en plein air painting in Newton, MA, and Rockland Maine. Initially she used painting for emotional healing especially when words weren’t easy to come by. During Covid she found inspiration at Great Meadow Nature reserve in Concord, MA. A recent trip to the south of France has filled her inspiration bucket. She trusts her inner voice to call her to paint.
The world of art is full of wonder and experiments for her. It is her safe haven for expression and she hopes it inspires reflection in the viewers.
